Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan AC (15 March 1977 – 28 November 2008) was an Indian Army officer who served in the elite Special Action Group of the National Security Guards. He was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peacetime gallantry award, for his bravery and sacrifice during the 2008 <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Mumbai%20attacks">Mumbai attacks</a>.
Unnikrishnan led his team in evacuating 14 hostages from the sixth floor of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. During the operation, he was fatally wounded while engaging terrorists in a fierce gunfight. His last words were, "Do not come up, I will handle them." His courage and selfless action saved the lives of many hostages and inspired his fellow soldiers.
Before joining the <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/National%20Security%20Guards">National Security Guards</a> (NSG), Unnikrishnan served in the 7th Battalion of the Bihar Regiment. He had a distinguished military career, participating in several counter-insurgency operations. He was known for his dedication, courage, and leadership skills.
